### Ohm’s law Definition

If the physical state of a conductor is unchanged, then the electric pressure (Voltage) flowing throughout the circuit is the direct proportional to the current flowing in the circuit. And is inversely proportional to the resistor blocking the circuit.

This law was first introduced by the German physicist and mathematician Georg Simon Ohm. Therefore it is called ohm’s law in his name.

### What is Ohm's law?

Ohm's law is one of the most important laws of physics. Ohm's law is a formula from which the relationship between Potential or Voltage, Current and Resistance is determined. Its importance in the field of electronics is not less than Einstein's theory of relativity.

Ohm's law - If physical conditions such as temperature, length, etc. are constant, then the voltage (voltage) produced at the ends of resistance in a power circuit is proportional to the current of flow in that resistance. .

That is V ∝ I

### Example of Ohm’s law

Example 1: If I = 5A and R = 8Î©, then what will be the voltage (V)?

Formula: - V = IxR

Or, V = 5 × 8

Or, V = 40 volts

### Application of ohm, s laws.

To determine the voltage, resistance or current of the electric circuit.

Ohm's law is used to maintain the desired voltage drop in electronic components.

Ohm's law is also used to bend current in DC Ammeter and other DC Shunt.

### Limitation of Ohm’s law:

The special circumstances where the law of Ohm is not applicable is called the limits of Ohm Low. Or it is called the Limitation of Ohm Law.

Ohm's law applies to metallic conductors. That too when its temperature is constant. If the temperature changes, then these rules do not work.

One way current, such as transistors and diodes, propagate in one direction. Ohm's law is not applicable for electrical elements that allow current to move in one direction. Either the law of Om does not work in such a place.

Non liner Element - Nonlinear components, such as electric arcs, Radio Valves, electric current (current) flowing in a gas filled tube are not directly proportional to the electric pressure (voltage) used. That is why the value of resistance is different for the voltage and current given on these drivers. And this is why Om Law does not work here.

Ohm's law does not apply to insulators and non-conductor metals (non-metals).
