Peripheral Device: What is a peripheral device?

Hello friends, today we will read about what is peripheral device (peripheral device kay hai) in this post, and will know in detail about its types of peripheral device.  So let's start.

Peripheral Devices: -

Peripheral Device: What is a peripheral device?:

Definition (परिभाषा): -

Definition : The peripheral device is a computer device such as: - keyboard or scanner.  These devices (peripheral devices of computer) are not part of the computer.  These are auxiliary devices of the computer.

A peripheral device provides peripheral device input / peripheral device output (I / O) functions to computers and does not have the capability of computing.  Despite the lack of computing capability, it acts as a computer's accessory.  The peripheral devices connect to the computer through several I / O interfaces, such as communications (COM), universal serial bus (USB) and serial ports.

Types Of Peripheral Device: -

These are of the following two types.

1). Based on Installation (Based on installation)

2). Based on Function (depending on the function)

#1.Based on Installation : -

These are of the following two types.

#A.Internal Peripheral Device: -

Peripheral devices that are installed or connected to a computer system internally are called Internal Peripheral Devices.

Examples: - CD / DVD ROM, Internal Modem, Video Card, Optical Disk Drive etc.

 #B. External Peripheral Device: -

Peripheral devices that are installed or connected externally to a computer system are called external peripheral devices.

Examples: - Keyboard, Mouse, Hard Disk, Printer, Printer, Projector, Speaker etc.

 #2.Based on Function: -

These are of the following three types.

 #A.Input Peripheral Device: -
Peripheral devices that are used to send data data to a computer system are called Input Peripheral Devices.

Examples :-

Example of peripheral devices and their function
Key-board: - It is an input device and is the most basic way for the user to communicate with the computer.  Normally a standard keyboard has 104 keys.  This can be used for shortcuts, which help with DOS commands (where the mouse does not work).

Top 10 peripheral devices.
Such as: - Alphabet Key, numeric Key, and Special keys, Function key, Number key, Arrow key.

Mouse: - It is used to control the cursor or pointer on the screen and give commands to the computer.  This allows operations to be maintained without memorizing complex key-board commands.  A roller is a ball of mouse that is rotated as a mouse on a desktop-top.  It is used as a pointer.  Through this, we can easily perform functions (functions) such as selecting menu command, moving the icon, resizing windows, starting the program and choosing options.

Joystick (Joystick): - It resembles the stick shift of cars.  It controls the object on the screen.  A joystick is an input device that can be used to control the speed of a Cursor or Pointer in a computer device.  This Input Device is mostly used in gaming and sometimes graphics works.

Digital Camera: -
This allows us to capture the image and transfer it to the computer as an image file.  Small-sized digital cameras can capture small amounts of video.

Web-Camera (Web Camera): - A web camera is a video camera that shows its image on a computer or computer network.  The most popular use for this is the installation of video links, which allow the computer to function as a video-phone or video conference station.

Microphone (Microphone): - It is used as an audio-input device.  The function of the microphone is to record the voice in the computer.

#B.Output Peripheral Device: -
Peripheral devices that are used to receive data from computer systems are called Output Peripheral Devices.

Examples:-

Monitor: - It is the most common computer output device.  This creates a display for users to view the information.  We also call it the Visual Display Unit (VDU).  Good quality of the image depends on the Pixels.

Printers: - A printer is an external hardware output device that takes electronic data stored on a computer or other device and produces a hard copy of it.  For example, if you have created a report on your computer, you can print several copies to take it out.  The printer is one of the most popular computer external devices and is commonly used to print text and photos.

Laser (लेजर): - It is expensive and is mostly used in medium to large organization.

Ink-Jet (Ink-Jet): - Commonly used in small businesses.

Dot Matrix: - It is used in most large organizations for printing and printing reports of large volumes of data.

Projector: - A multimedia projector is a compact, high-resolution, and full color projector capable of reading, image, video and audio content.

Speaker: - It is a kind of sound device that is used in songs, recordings, etc.  They are also used in laptop, mp3 player etc.  Nowadays, speakers are also used to run with the help of Bluetooth (Bluetooth) and US-B (USB).

Headset :- This is a combination of speaker and microphone.  It is mostly used by gamers and is also a great tool for communicating with family and friends over the Internet using VIP SOFTWARE.

#C.Storage Peripheral Device: -
Peripheral Device used to store (data) given by a computer.  They are called Storage Peripheral Device.

Hard Drive: - It is used to store data for a long time.  Inside this, we can store the operating system and applications of the computer as well as personal files which include photography, documents, music.  Each computer has a Hard Drive.

Two Types of Hard Drive

 HDD: - Hard Disc Drive

 SDD: - Solid State Drive

SDD (Solid State Drive): - The idea of SSD (Solid State Drive) was introduced in 1978 and implemented with semiconductors.  It stores data even when there is no continuous power supply.  SSD speed is much higher than HDD because it READ / WRITE the data function at high IOPS (I / O per seconds).

HDD (Hard Disc Drive): - HDD (Hard Disk Drive) was created by OBM in 1956 and is an old technology.  It is a READ / WRITE Electromechanical Device, which works by moving its parts and stores the data on Magnetic Rotating Plates.  Nevertheless, it is better data storage technology.

Flash Drive (Flash Drive): - A flash drive is a small, ultra-portable storage device as opposed to optical drive or traditional hard drive.

The flash drive connects to the computer and other devices via a USB Type-A plug, the flash drive is connected to the US-B (USB) device and the computer via the cable.  Can connect to.

Input / Output Devices

Input / Output Device is used for both input and output functions.  While they are also used as storage.  The computer transmits the data to the drive, where it is transmitted and can be subsequently assessed.

Examples: - CD Drive, DVD Drive (DVD-Drive), US-B Drive (USB-Drive), Hard Disk Drive (Floppy Disk Drive) and Floppy Disk Drive.

Benefits of Peripheral Device: -

Joystick: - Easy to learn to use

Remote Control: - Each function can have its own button which makes them very simple to use.

Digital Camera: - No film is required and Unwanted Images can be removed directly.

Headphone: - Easy to use and easy to keep.

Storage Device: - Very fast to access data and cheaper to buy.

 Peripheral device disadvantages: -

 Direct Joystick has limited directions

Remote control cannot be used to control anything other than the device for which they were designed.

Photos taken in digital camera are more size, so images often have to be compressed.

If storage devices fail, the saved data is deleted.
